Ishtiaq Ahmad - Pride of Pakistan

Reading remained my passion since childhood. Reading books and stories was the most interesting thing for me. I wasn't a book worm, I was just passionate to know more and more in less time! :) Even I started reading newspaper at the age of 11. Many children of my age thought me as a fool but once a passion, an emotion, a true feel starts living in the very bottom of your heart, you cant escape it, even if you wanted to leave that!

I read my first detective novel by Ishtiaq Ahmad when I was in class 8th and after that there was no end... :) Starting from Inspector Jamshed series, there were countless of Inspector Kamran and Shoki series too, but the flow n accent in Jamshed series, accompanied by his 2 sons Mehmood, Farooq and daughter Farzana kept me indulge and out of this world untill finishing the book. :)

Ishtiaq sahab's novels are not just simple detective stories having funny tit bits written in SHUSTA URDU, but they are much influential having references from the Holy Quran and Hadees-e-Nabvi (P.B.U.H.) in simple and child-friendly manner that everyone understands them and in most cases, ready to follow them at once. I myself started offering 5 times prayers regularly after reading orders of Allah about 'Namaz' (Muslims' way of prayer means "to bow before Almighty Allah") in one of his novels.

The way Ishtiaq sahab writes, collaborates with your life; the very life you are living! and I m proud to declare that if it wasn't for Ishtiaq Ahmad's novels, I probably may not be having so much vocabulary in my own mother-language URDU and to garnish it, there were proverbs used in such nice a manner that they became a part of my daily life language and I m more acknowledged by my students as compared to other teaching staff now :). Once you started reading from Title to HADEES-e-NABVI (P.B.U.H.) to DO BATEN to first baab, you wont come back to the life around you until you done with the last page! :)

I still read and a fan of Ishtiaq sahab's writing stuff. Wish, I could myself ever pay him my regards...!!

Sumbul Khan :)
